Rob Belloir was a former infielder in the major leagues. He played from 1975 to 1978 and spent his entire time in the majors with the Atlanta Braves.

Belloir was born in Heidelberg, Germany. He would attend high school in Atlanta and play multiple sports before going on to attend college at Mercer University. He attended on a basketball scholarship but also played baseball there. The Cleveland Indians drafted him in the eighth round of the 1969 MLB Draft. He was then drafted into the Army and spent two years in service, with six months spent in Vietnam.

Before he made it to the majors he was traded by the Indians tot he Braves in a deal involving Blue Moon Odom. He made his major league debut on August 2, 1975. He played the most games in any season in his career over the rest of that year, getting into 43 games. It was his best season with a .219 averages and nine RBI. This was an older one in my backlog that I hadn’t posted. Rob had a small signature, but that helped him squeeze it into different spots. It didn’t come out well on these cards but that’s more on the cards than Rob. Sometimes older cards just don’t take the ink very well.

Rest in peace Mr. Belloir. My thoughts go out to your family and friends.
