So football has started… what’s you care level for this season? My brother actually called me about this earlier in the week. He had to decide on NFL Ticket and was wondering how much he cared. I think it’s kind of all-or-nothing for him though because he doesn’t have cable to see the games. One of the things we talked about was what happens if there are issues with the virus and games (or the season) are impacted? That’s a lot to spend on some ifs.
I’m still trying to decide, but I can tell you it’s not high. There are a few factors for this. First, I have been a lot more into baseball. I almost forced myself into and now am probably too into an “asterisk” of a season. It’s a little odd to have done that too considering it is an every day type of sport.
Second, my team (Giants) are not very good. While I would love to say I am a die hard, you can’t deny that the losing gets to you. I think sometimes though it’s the way the team loses. Y’all know I am a Mets fan so you know it’s not that losing bothers me. But the Giants are on a different level in recent years. That said, they have some exciting players and a new year and an 0-0 record is always a new beginning.
Third, like my first reason, I seem to be more into other sports. The EPL is starting back up this weekend and I follow F1 as well. So football might be taking a bit of a backseat.
So I’ve gotten into my regular fantasy league with some neighbors (no money on the line) to try to help out. I’ll give it an effort I guess and see how it goes.
So what are you all thinking about this?
The Review
Here’s what happened on the blog last week:
- Monday: Darrell Thompson, Jeff Burris, Andre Ware
- Tuesday: Jim Lachey, Ken Gerhart
- Wednesday: Jay Bell
- Thursday: Kevin Maas
- Friday: Pete Stanicek
- Saturday: Steve Comer
- Sunday: Eric Martin
#backtoschool weekend was fun with the long holiday weekend. It definitely allowed me to catch up, even if just a little bit. The rest of the week was filled with some random older successes. But I have noticed that I am still catching up from a few months ago when I had a ton of Orioles come in.
The Preview
Here’s what I have coming up for this week:
- Monday: I wonder if he like Walt-ernate jerseys…
- Tuesday: Down goes Frazier…
- Tuesday: I have to go clean the Guetters…
- Wednesday: A different CC for the Yankees…
- Thursday: He think he the Mackey…
- Friday: One if by Landeta…
- Saturday: Ritcher or poorer…
- Sunday: Send him to the Lyons…
I’m back into a theme for this week. Sorry about my poll being wonky with me making a mistake and listing one option twice (oops!). It did cause some very funny responses though… and they were right up my alley. This week will be #empirestate week.
Other Notes
This was definitely a lighter week. I only got eight returns in this week. The only issue with receiving mail this week was not getting my Informed Delivery email, but I can still check the app. I did notice that when I didn’t get the email there really wasn’t anything worthwhile coming in the mail according to the app. I think it was just a light week and not necessarily mail issues.
When I did get the mail there was one day when it again looked like two cards got dropped in a puddle. Nothing else mind you, just my cards. And one of them came with a messed up envelope and only one card in it so I have no idea if my other cards are floating around the neighborhood or if I just got one back. I think if the rest of my mail was as soaked as the cards get it would be different. I’m not kidding when I say they were so soaked that when I pulled them out of my box the envelopes basically fell apart in my hands.
Stay safe and healthy out there!
