Review / Preview – Week of 8/3

TTM Review Preview

It’s really hard to talk about a lot of things these days without any of it seeming to be political. I really try hard to avoid that stuff as much as I can from the blog’s perspective. This is supposed to be more fun and with things being so polarized and divided when it comes to everything these days that is not fun. I like to debate and talk politics with people, but when you do that on the internet there’s not place for nuance and it just gets to be futile for both sides.

But all of this stuff going on with the USPS is starting to impact the hobby a bit more and will continue to do so. Things are taking longer to get places as well as even getting to those places. If you read this blog often you know I’ve had some issues getting my mail and that continued Saturday. I was supposed to get 5 TTMs and got nothing. Plus it means things I wanted to put in the mail didn’t get out.

At this point there’s no sense in blaming my mail carrier because I am sure they are doing the best they can with what they have and what they are being told. It should be pretty simple and it’s frustrating when things like this are used as pawns in a larger game.

Keep on keepin’ on I guess…

The Review

Here’s what happened on the blog last week:

#emeraldcity week was dominated by Mariners. That shouldn’t surprise you because you know I get back mostly baseball. But I was able to sneak in a Pilot and a Seahawk as well. Next week should have a bit more variety.

The Preview

Here’s what I have coming up for this week:

  • Monday: Son of Wood…
  • Tuesday: Frankly my dear, I don’t give a Stams…
  • Wednesday: The Vande-y man can…
  • Thursday: The Don…
  • Friday: Chris?
  • Saturday: He went on the Len…
  • Sunday: Stevie G…

The theme for this week is #cityofangels. I think if I get through it without writing #cityofangles I will consider it a success. The majority are Dodgers but I do sneak a couple football in there. And from two different teams at that.

Other Notes

No failures this week, but with this whole “not getting any mail at all” becoming a thing, that’s feels like failure. Still the backlog is at 211 and will surely rise next week even if it’s a pretty standard week. Hopefully things will get a bit more regular with the mail soon. Oh, and no failures this week so that feels good.

Stay safe and healthy out there!
