Review / Preview – Week of 8/14

TTM Review Preview

This weekend there were two card shows. I was thinking that would mean a pretty good weekend. But alas…

Not that it was a bad weekend. I should have known that the first show would be a disappointment. It’s very small and it’s a ton of things in display boxes. That’s just not my thing. Everyone seems nice, but that’s just not the collector I am. Lots of new things and then other new things behind glass. I literally spent 5 minutes walking around and then jetted.

As I write this I haven’t gone to the other one yet. But usually that one is a bit better. Usually way more packed so hopefully I can find a parking spot. As long as one vendor is there with the boxes I can look through for TTM cards, I will have a great time. I just need to bring a bag with me or something to take a haul away. But then again if I do, maybe I will jinx it.

But of course, it’s also a weekend where there are a ton of things to do.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

The Review

Here’s what happened on the blog last week:

I didn’t have a #twofortuesday theme this past week. I probably could have with two James names on the list. Or maybe by a sport. Missed opportunites.

The Preview

Here’s what I have coming up for this week:

  • Monday: Bill-t to last…
  • Tuesday: In-Zane in the membrane…
  • Tuesday: Wehner you gonna get here…
  • Wednesday: Jon Contract…
  • Thursday: Bob MacDonald had a farm…
  • Friday: Bill-able hours…
  • Saturday: Dayett come and me wan go home…
  • Sunday: Double Dubs…

There will be a Pirate theme to the #twofortuesday this week. A lot of these are probably really easy guesses. I mean I used someone’s full name in one. Am I getting lazy?

Yes.

Other Notes

While two weeks ago was just OK, last week was a bit more disappointing. At least for the total returns I got back. I got back 13 successful returns. That’s just not the rate I’d like to see. I don’t mind the content of what I got back – I love that. I just which the amount was more. I think maybe its the way the vacation impacted how I sent out my attempts.

There was one straggler this week. Jim Todd returned one after 514 days. That was from early 2022. Other than that I didn’t get back anything from paid requests or anything like that. I got back two that I sent to team addresses this year: Wayne Kirby and Larry Andersen.

The Recent TTM Success page is updated (actually was updated yesterday).

Have a great week!
