Review / Preview – Week of 6/14

TTM Review Preview

Today I was realizing that sometimes, and some parts I guess, of taking care of the yard are bad, but then others are so satisfying. I was edging today, and doing a damn good job I think, and it was so satisfying to have all those clean lines around.

On the flip side, I also spent time pulling weeds out of all the cracks in the walks and the driveways. Give I have some arthritis my hands tend to feel pretty terrible by the end of that. Weeding is just the worst job of all. I think that goes back to being traumatized by it in my youth. It always seems like a lot of work and then you look back and you never get as far as you think.

That said though, when I look back at the yard it looks pretty awesome.

On the bug update side, cicadas and yard work can be a pain in the ass. I’m not scared of them, but they do surprise the crap out of you. I’ve wondered if they are attracted at all to the sounds of the mower, weed wacker and blower. They seem like they are sort of going away at this point though. But I think some good rain at the end of last week helped.

Hope you have a great week! Stay safe!

The Review

Here’s what happened on the blog last week:

I got a theme back for my #twofortuesday posts and it was “Pittsburgh” as I worked both a Pirate and a Steeler in for that day. I think Hrbek and Wendell were the biggest cards I posted this week for me. Although I did think that Thane Gash came out really well too.

The Preview

Here’s what I have coming up for this week:

  • Monday: Let’s just give him the last initial G… he did…
  • Tuesday: My name’s Doug and I’m outta here…
  • Tuesday: Pitcher Stu doesn’t advertise…
  • Wednesday: Wade-ing pool…
  • Thursday: Best S in the game for me…
  • Friday: Grant me this…
  • Saturday: Craw(ford) fish…
  • Sunday: Cherry on top…

It will be Angels in the outfield, or rather the pitcher’s mound, on Tuesday this week.

Other Notes

Another meh week. It was a little better than it has been with 10 returns. But with as much as I am sending out lately I had hoped for better results. I’ll just keep at it and hopefully it just bodes well down the line for later weeks or months.

One of the most interesting returns I got this week was Doug Fister. This was something I sent out to him while he played for the Rangers in 2018. So even though you write something off, don’t completely give up on thing that are out there. Another good return I got was Darren Holmes with the Orioles who seems to be a good coach to give a try as I’ve gotten a couple returns from him last year and this year.

Have a great week!
