The Super Bowl always feels odd. First of all, my Giants have had about zero chance from day one of the season for like… a decade. That doesn’t help. It’s almost depressing if you think of it as, “when is my team going to get there?”
But this feels like it could be an exciting game. We certainly have seen some good games throughout the playoffs, especially if we selectively forget about the first weekend. The Rams and Bengals are not teams that have one it so that’s pretty cool. It’s always nice to see some new teams progressing (unless they’re your rivals I guess). And I think its sort of interesting how they took different paths to get there with the Bengals building more and the Rams buying more. That wraps into the whole big city v. little city thing too.
But then I also think, what really ties me to this game? Is it even better if I just flat out hated one team? Its like when the Yankees make the playoffs, I think anyone who isn’t a Yankee fan pretty much roots for the other team most times. But who do you hate in this one? Bengals fans have to be very focused to Cincinnati I would think (not like say Cowboys or Steelers fans for example) and Rams fans, well, do they exist? With the team switching cities over the years, and the way the crowd was in the NFC Championship game, I won’t say they don’t but they definitely have to rebuild a fan base.
So anyway, who are you rooting for? What are you rooting for? What kind of food are you eating? Are you excited for the half time show?
Stay safe and healthy out there!
The Review
Here’s what happened on the blog last week:
- Monday: Terry Harmon
- Tuesday: Steve Shields, John D’Acquisto
- Wednesday: Bobby Valentine
- Thursday: Dick Drago
- Friday: Jeff Huson, January 2022 TTM Report
- Saturday: Tom Filer
- Sunday: Robert Parish
So no theme again for the #twofortuesday. I know I’m slacking off on that. Sometimes it just doesn’t come up with what I’m trying to get posts out for. But I did give you an early Valentine’s day with Bobby V on Wednesday!
The Preview
Here’s what I have coming up for this week:
- Monday: A hit from Madonna…
- Tuesday: Something from the other side of the planet…
- Tuesday: What does a dog say…
- Wednesday: Repeat two words to get this group…
- Thursday: What you say when you discover something…
- Friday: Last name is a city in Texas…
- Saturday: My Bonnie lies over the ocean…
- Sunday: King of Pop…
Oh man, I’m spoiling you all this coming week. We’ve got themes within themes. Cincinnati will be the theme for the #twofortuesday, but the overall theme for the week will be… (drum roll)… #turnttmsinto80shits! I had a blast putting this one together. It was Dad joke/pun heaven. I’m not going to hint the songs above, but you’ll get the artists above.
Other Notes
I was only slightly better than last week’s disappointing returns. After a fourteen return week, last week was a fifteen return week. TTMing is always hit or miss, but it sometimes just feels odd how much there can be ups and downs. I know there were times where things were going nuts for me and I’d see people on Twitter talking about no returns. I guess everyone hits lulls from time to time.
Rex Hudler was the straggler this week. His was out for 363 days. There were only for others that took just over 60 days: Andy Heck, Scott Fletcher, Jeff Foster, and James Campen.
The new Recent TTM Success is updated. Couldn’t even fit everything from this week in the last 30 section this week.
Have a great week!
