This week’s intro is going to be a little short. There wasn’t much happening this week so….
But this weekend is Fall Break for my oldest and it was my youngest 16th birthday! We’re taking the weekend to spend some time with them and celebrate some things a little bit. We’ve all been so busy lately that we’ve had to try to pack it all in.
Hope you guys are having a great weekend!
The Review
Here’s what happened on the blog last week:
- Monday: James Robinson
- Tuesday: Kirk Lowdermilk, Dave Meier
- Wednesday: Tim Jones
- Thursday: Steve Kasper
- Friday: Robert Reid
- Saturday: Dave Taylor
- Sunday: Walt Garrison
There was a Minnesota #twofortuesday theme last week. But I also could have gone for something more “royal”. I don’t know how I didn’t pick up on Steve Kasper and Dave Taylor, both in Los Angeles Kings uniforms. I guess I could have tried for a #twothemesfortuesday… but that would have meant forethought and I only have so much of that these days.
The Preview
Here’s what I have coming up for this week:
- Monday: An M&Mer…
- Tuesday: Huson we have a problem…
- Tuesday: Flat Stanley…
- Wednesday: Harvey Danger…
- Thursday: You’re my boy Blue…
- Friday: Scotty doesn’t know…
- Saturday: Win one for the Kipper…
- Sunday: Hail to The Chief…
For another week I have a serendipitous #twofortuesday post. These things just keep popping up. There will be a Texas, more specifically, Rangers theme for this week.
Other Notes
This wasn’t too bad a week. But that said, it was the most failures I’ve seen in a while. I had eighteen returns and three of them were failures. The three failures we things that I didn’t make a mistake on or really have another option for at this point, so I couldn’t immediately send them back out like I get so sometimes. They were: Kevin Stocker (sent to Pac-12 – such as it is), James Jones (sent to NFL Network – don’t think he is there anymore but tried anyway), and Mike Blowers (sent to the Mariners – I think I used an old address maybe).
Of the successes there were a few stragglers, some pretty good: Mike Laga (770 days), Dave Ellett (498 days), Kevin Gamble (363 days) and Joe Grahe (227 days), all came in over the 200 day mark. The crazy thing is that I got the first three on the first day of the week. As for paid returns I got back Jerry Koosman and I might not send him any more because his signature is pretty unsteady.
I’m definitely noticing that more and more I get most of my returns on Mondays and the rest of the week I don’t get as much.

Have a great week!
