The Story of the Autograph

Ted Power pitcher for a bunch of teams over the years, 8 in fact, but spent 5 years with the Reds in the 80’s and another year with them in ’91. Most of his career was spent as a relief pitcher including as the closer for the Reds for a little while. He did start a few games for some teams before moving back to the bullpen. Ultimately Power lost his career to a shoulder injury and he had Surgery in 1994 and never pitched a game that year. After refusing a minor league assignment he was made a free agent.

Mr. Power has been a pitching coach for several different teams in the minors and for the Reds in the majors since 2016.

The Score on Ted Power – 7

Ned Power? I thought I sent it to Ted Power. Oh, I see.

I’m actually digging the “T” that looks like an “N.” Capital letter game is strong for Mr. Power. He’s got good size and placement too, and he uses a great pen. I’ve gotten something from Ted before but this is the quickest return I’ve had for him, which is great. Something to note is that he did only sign 3. I’ve had him sign 5 in the past so I’m not sure if he’s changed his practice, but the signatures are appreciated all the same. Thanks Mr. Power. The score is a 7!

Side Note: I don’t mind the blue marker on these cards, but tell me that ’88 Topps coloring doesn’t just ruin the whole feeling of the card. The colors for the Reds are yellow, light blue and bright pink? Really? Plus with the Reds uni and then his blue marker. ’88 Topps is not a great card to get signed.
