The themed weeks continued last week with #clevelandrocks week and I’ll continue that again into next week with #californiadreamin week. I’ve got at least one more themed week planned after this before I might take a break to reorganize and get another pole out there for the next set of themes.
Live sports are still pretty much a ghost town these days. The only thing that’s really out there is the Bundesliga and I’ve been getting into that a bit more. I always followed it a little, but I’m able to devote more attention to it. I’m trying to decide who my team is and it might be Schalke. For one, Weston McKennie is on the team and I like him. Secondly, they are blue and they seem like they are like the Mets and currently in a big slump.
It’s always easy to root for Dortmund (Schalke Derby rivals I think) or Bayern, so I am trying to find a challenging team to get behind (like the Mets can be). I still watch a lot of the games.
Hopefully there will be more to root for soon. I hope everyone out there stays safe!
The Review
Here’s what happened on the blog last week:
- Sunday: Raul Allegre
- Monday: Kevin Mack
- Tuesday: Charlie Spikes
- Wednesday: Wayne Kirby
- Thursday: Jack Brohamer
- Friday: Reggie Jefferson
- Saturday: Doug Jones
Raul Allegre closed out #newyorkstateofmind week and then Kevin Mack led us into #clevelandrocks week. I’m still having a pretty good time with the themes so I’m going to keep that going for a couple more weeks then I’ll probably have to reorganize a bit.
The Preview
Here’s what I have coming up for this week:
- Monday: His last name is what concrete does with time…
- Tuesday: Mean Gene…
- Wednesday: He signed this GD card…
- Thursday: Rock the Mike…
- Friday: Setting the Bahr high…
- Saturday: LeRoy from LeRams…
- Sunday: A JJ from the Raiders…
With #californiadreamin being the theme, this won’t be limited to one city this time. So keep that in mind when you think about the hints above. For the most part I was able to do a pretty good job covering two sports, five cities and seven teams with these.
Other Notes
Last week closed out a really good month. I can’t wait to put together the final numbers for May because it might be the best month of this year and maybe my best month ever. I’m wondering how the total cards will come out as compared with total successes as I think I was getting a few from some smaller requests I had.
The backlog is crept up a little to 166.
