This week brought the end of the #beastieboyschallenge. It was definitely enjoyable since it fit in my musical wheelhouse and I had a good time matching quotes with cards. My Dad joke meter was definitely in the red for that effort.
So now it’s time to dig into the back of that backlog and move onto some other things. Plus I had a recap of February and another edition of Breaking Blasters in the mix.
The Review
Here’s what happened on the blog last week:
- Sunday: Kevin Miller (But I’m chillin’ with the Miller cold coolin’ at the bar)
- Monday: Jim Beattie (Mommy’s just jealous it’s the Beattie Boys)
- Tuesday: Skip Lockwood (So I went into the locker room during classes, Bust into your locker and I smashed your glasses), February 2020 TTM Report
- Wednesday: Cecil Cooper
- Thursday: Shane Carle, Breaking Blasters: 2020 Topps Heritage
- Friday: Robert Awalt
- Saturday: Al Hrabosky
February was a great month and maybe my best ever, so it was good to look deeper into that. Hopefully I can still top that another time or two this year. Plus 2020 Heritage was released the week before and I dug into a few blasters of that.
The Preview
Here’s what I have coming up for this week:
- Monday: A platypus?
- Tuesday: Does he grunt hard?
- Wednesday: “Off” my rocker…
- Thursday: Taking someone to the Matt…
- Friday: Same first name as a Wayans brother…
- Saturday: Kling wrap…
- Sunday: Ready, Set, Go…
I fully admit those are either terrible or obvious clues in different ways.
I’ve got a couple other things that I have on tap. I went to a card show this weekend so hopefully a good review of that will be coming if I can get my act together. But there’s another card show in my area next weekend too! It’s like all-or-nothing around here I guess.
Other Notes
The backlog is at 113 after a really amazing start to March. It’s since slowed down slightly but I am at a really good pace so far.
I got my first Spring Training successes finally! But none of them were from current players. They were all from coaches and two of them were from the same team. Not that Spring Training returns haven’t been getting more and more disappointing, but this year feels even worse for me. It get especially that way when you see other folks get returns for guys you sent to. So if I’m seeing that I can’t chalk it up to coronavirus changes.
It was really fun to open Heritage. I opened up a some more of that. Plus I really hope I can write up a recap of the card show because I got a whole lot for a only a little.
Hope you have a great week!
