Review / Preview – Week of 2/3

TTM Review Preview

I won’t say these Review / Preview posts were a “resolution” for the new year. I’m not really into those. But I will say it was a goal and I already put a dent in that goal.

Last week was C-R-A-Z-Y at work. Well, beyond last week which is why I didn’t get what I wanted to be a regular Sunday post out. But then that bled into the week and I missed a post on Monday. The worst thing I could do in these situations is allow that to impact more posts. So I’m pushing ahead and getting back into my Sunday groove.

The Review

Here’s what happened on the blog last week:

All of the successes from last week were from players that I had already received something from in the past except for two: Ed Kranepool and Steve Nicosia. I’d received something before from Ed but way before my blogging days started. And speaking of things dealing with those two, a little Mets, Pirates, Mets, Pirates pattern started there but it was broken by Mike Tyson.

The other thing I’ll note is that Steve Nicosia autograph is one of my favorites ever. It was one of the highest scores I had for last year’s successes. That guy has some style and can work that pen.

The Preview

How about something fun?  Here’s what’s on top for this week:

  • Monday: A Dutch Californian…
  • Tuesday: Not nearr but (yes, the double r’s are on purpose)…
  • Wednesday: Speaking of doubles, this guy is a double D…
  • Thursday: First to leave Oregon early…
  • Friday: A barber perhaps…
  • Saturday: Billy Joel said “Only the good die <blank>”…
  • Sunday: Backed up Biff…

Go ahead and make a guess. Obviously some of these are pretty vague but I’m not just going to give things away people, geez! Have fun!

Other Notes

The backlog number has increased to 84. I feel like I’m back at work when I hear backlog as they always talk about backlogged contracts that will be business later. I definitely don’t need to miss any more days like I did this week. That’s why I doubled up on another day so I could try to stay on track.

I’m brewing up some other content as well. I opened up a few old wax boxes that I’m interested in taking a little deeper look at soon. But before that 2020 Topps Series 1 will be out so I think recent stuff will take priority over some old stuff. I’m not saying it always should, but the old stuff could wait it’s turn.

Hope you have a great week!
