The Story of the Autograph

Paul Ysebaert is a former center in the National Hockey League. He played from 1988 to 1999 with the New Jersey Devils, Detroit Red Wings, Winnipeg Jets, Chicago Blackhawks, and Tampa Bay Lightning.

Ysebaert is a native of Ontario, Canada. He played sparing to start his career in New Jersey with just 21 games in his first three seasons. He then went on to Detroit via trade for a draft pick and Lee Norwood. He was a fan favorite there and earned the nickname “Rocket Man.” It was also where he had the best seasons of his career. In back to back seasons he score at least 34 goals in 1991-92 and 1992-93. He also had 40 and 28 assists in those seasons respectively. He led the league in 1991-92 with a 44+/-.

Detroit traded him to Winnipeg in 1993 and then Winnipeg traded him to Chicago in 1994. In 1995 he was traded to Tampa Bay and he finished his career out there, spending his last five seasons in Florida.

Paul has a very compact signature. What helps him out on these cards is that for hockey cards they aren’t all that busy. But a strong marker adds to help out with that too. I think I like the cards of him in a Detroit uniform the best because he had his best seasons there and the black goes so well with those cards.
