The Story of the Autograph

Junior Felix is a former outfielder in the major leagues. He played from 1989 to 1994 with the Toronto Blue Jays, California Angels, Florida Marlins and Detroit Tigers.

Felix was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. He was signed as an amateur free agent by the Toronto Blue Jays in September of 1985. After a few seasons in the minors he made his major league debut on May 3, 1989, and what a debut it was. On that day Felix became the 27th AL player ever to homer in his first major league at-bat and then 10th do so on the very first pitch he saw.

He played one more season in Toronto before they traded him in December of 1990. That might have been his best season in the majors. He played in 127 games and batted .263 with 15 homers, 65 RBI and 13 stolen bases. In that deal he went to California with Luis Sojo in return for Willie Fraser, Marcus Moore and Devon White. He had a pretty good year with the Angels in 1992.

After the 1992 season the Florida Marlins took him in the MLB Expansion Draft. He signed with the Tigers the next year and played his last major league game on August 11, 1994.

The Score on Junior Felix – 6.0

Junior has a pretty condensed signature, at least vertically it seems condensed. It makes it appear on the small side. I like the style he adds with the tops of his “J” and “F” kind of going together. It almost makes his signature appear as if it’s a logo.

Thanks Mr. Felix! I’m giving this return a 6.

Nice return. SCN shows that he signs in bulk….about once a year gets it all done. I might give him a shot.

Kinda surprised more guys don’t do that. At least like once a month or every few months or something like that. I never noticed that though, thank for pointing it out!
