The Story of the Autograph

Jerry Don Gleaton is a former left-handed pitcher in the majors. He played from 1979 through 1992 with the Rangers, Mariners, White Sox, Royals, Tigers, and Pirates.

Gleaton was born and raised in Texas and was an All-American with Texas in college. He was name the Southwest Conference MVP in 1979 and then was drafted by the Rangers with the 18th overall pick in 1979. He made his major league debut with the Rangers on July 11th 1979.

He worked mainly in relief throughout his career. He appeared in 307 games and pitched 447.1 innings for his career. His overall record was 15-23 with a 4.25 ERA and 265 strikeouts.

Gleaton has a pretty good autograph and it came out great on most of these cards. The ’85 Topps card is a little dark so that definitely hurts. I love the ’88 Score cards so that one looks like one of the best to me but so does the 1989 Topps.
