The Story of the Autograph

Greg Litton was a utility player in the major leagues from 1989 through 1994. He spent the majority of his playing days with the San Francisco Giants (1989-1992) and the spent a year each with the Seattle Mariners and Boston Red Sox.

Litton was born in New Orleans, LA and was drafted by the Giants with the 10th overall pick in the first round of the 1984 MLB Draft. He spent several years in the minors and made his major league debut on May 2, 1989 for the Giants.

He really did play all over the field. The majority of the time he played at second base or in the outfield. But over his career Litton made appearances at every position including three as a catcher and one as a pitcher. That versatility helped Litton get into a lot of games.

He got in to 93 games with the Giants in 1990 for a career high that led to a career high in plate appearances with 221. He put up a .245 average wit one home run and 24 RBI. His career high in homers was 4 which he did in 1989 and 1992 in San Francisco. His career high in RBI was 25 in Seattle in 1993.

Greg has a pretty fancy autograph It’s too bad that it only shows up well on the one card. I like the way he takes the end of his last name to cross his “t’s”. I also like is fancy upper case “G”. That just always seems like a letter you can do good things with.

Thanks Mr. Litton! I’m giving these a 6.
