The Story of the Autograph
Graham Gano is a kicker in the NFL. He’s played for the Washington Redskins, Carolina Panthers and currently is with the New York Giants.
Gano was born in Scotland, but is the sun of a US Navy vet. He grew up in Florida and was a track star as well as a kicker in high school. He went on to attend Florida State University and was a First-team All-ACC player and Lou Groza Award winner in 2008.
He went undrafted in the 2009 NFL Draft and signed with the Ravens but was waived before the season started. He then signed with he Las Vegas Locomotives of the United Football League. In December of that year the Redskins signed him to replace Shaun Suisham. While he could be a clutch kicker for them, they also made him compete for his job a few times. Eventually they released him in 2012.
He moved on to the Carolina Panthers in November of 2012. He would play with the Panthers in their Super Bowl loss to the Broncos, tie Tom Dempsey’s record 63-yard field goal and earn a Pro Bowl nod in 2017. He was injured at the end of 2018 and then again in the beginning of 2019 and missed the season. Then the Panthers cut him in 2020.
From there he signed with the Giants and played pretty well while with them as well.

I don’t get that many returns from current players these days and especially not from current football players. So it’s nice when I find cards of guy like Graham who will sign. It helps that I’ve been keeping a closer eye on recent returns, but then I have to find their cards. I love these Score cards in general, I just wish the autographs looked good on them. Some newer cards just don’t lend themselves to great signatures.
