The Story of the Autograph

Chasen Shreve is a left-handed relief pitcher in the major leagues. He’s currently a free agent but his career started in Atlanta with the Braves in 2014 and since then he’s played with the New York Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals, New York Mets and most recently, the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Shreve was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. He went to the College of Southern Nevada and then was drafted by the Braves in the eleventh round of the 2010 MLB Draft. He spent a few years in the minors and then in 2014 he altered his pitch to increase velocity. The move paid off as he got his major league debut on July 19, 2014. He was traded to the Yankees before the 2015 season started.

He pitched for a few years for the Yankees and started off great. Then he struggled a little bit at the end of the 2015 season. That continued into 2016 and he went to the injured list with a shoulder strain. He came back and continued with the Yankees before being traded to the Cardinals in 2018 in a deal that got the Yankees Luke Voit. He went on to the Mets in 2020 and then played for the Pirates last season.

The Score on Chasen Shreve – 6.0

Chasen has a long and thin, or maybe I should say short, signature. There isn’t too much to it and unfortunately this card doesn’t help to show it off well. While I would love to find a Mets card for him, he has played with the Yankees the longest to this point in his career so maybe it’s best that I have a card of where I really think of him.

Thanks Mr. Shreve! I’m giving this return a 6.
