The Story of the Autograph

Albert Hall is a former outfielder in the major leagues. He played from 1981 to 1989 with the Atlanta Braves and Pittsburgh Pirates.

Hall was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. The Braves drafted him out of high school in the sixth round of the 1977 MLB Draft. In the minors he shows that he could steal bases and he stole at least 60 four times, including 100 in 1980. He would also later steal 72 in 1986 while with their Triple-A team. He made his major league debut for the Braves on September 12, 1981.

Unfortunately for Hall he only spent two full seasons with the big club, 1984 and 1987. In other years he was pretty much a Four-A player. 1987 was his best year though. That season he was able to put up career highs all over the place with a .284 average, three homers, 24 RBI, 33 stolen bases, 20 doubles, and four triples. That year he was also the first player in the history of the franchise to hit for the cycle since 1910 (Bill Collins).

He moved on to Pittsburgh in 1989 but only played 20 games. The Astros took him in the 1989 rule 5 draft but played his last game with the Pirates on October 1, 1989.

This was an interesting one from Albert. If I remember correctly he signed the back of the cards as well. At leat he did that with a couple of them. I think in a more recent return he only signed the back. As for the style, I like it. I actually think the most interesting is the 1988 Donruss card. I like the way the “t” and the “H” sitting on top of each other have similar loops. But he didn’t do that onl all the cards.

Thanks Mr. Hall! I’m giving this return a 6.5.
