The Story of the Autograph

Aaron Ledesma is a former infielder in the major leagues. He played from 1995 to 2000 with the New York Mets, Baltimore Orioles, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and Colorado Rockies.

Ledesma was born and raised in California. He was drafted by the Mets out of Chabot College in the second round of the 1990 MLB Draft. He spent the next five seasons in their minor league system before making his major league debut on July 2, 1995. He made it into 21 games that year. The Mets then traded him to the Angels. He only spent time in their minor league system before becoming a free agent at the end of 1996.

He move on to the Orioles for the 1996 season and increased his playing time to 43 games. He also hit the only two homers of his career while with Baltimore. Then he was taken by the Devil Rays in the 1997 MLB Expansion Draft as the 62nd pick. He would get his best shot there with over 90 games played in both 1998 and 1999 and hit .324 in 1998.

He moved on the the Rockies in a deal that brought Vinny Castilla to Tampa Bay and played his final year in the majors in Colorado with his last game on June 10, 2000.

In more recent years he coached in the Yankees minor league system. These days he runs a yoga studio with his wife where they are both instructors.

The Score on Aaron Ledesma – 5.5

Aaron only signed on of the cards I sent him. I mentioned I was a Mets fan and sometimes I wonder if guys only sign the card that matches what you say in the letter. But maybe he just tends to sign one. I was hoping to also add another Rays card to my collection. This one gets a bit of a lower score just because it’s hard to see the signature over the blue jersey.

Thanks Mr. Ledesma! I’m giving this return a 5.5.
