Review / Preview – Week of 1/10

TTM Review Preview

This was a crazy week. Snow to start off which cancelled school right away. Usually west and north of me are worse off but this time we were right in line for some of the worst of it. If you heard anything about us here in Virginia there was that major accident on both directions of I-95 that had some people trapped out there for about 36 hours.

So school was cancelled and then just kept cancelling the rest of the week because it was so icy. Then on Thursday it cancelled again and the kids got a whole week off. They haven’t even been back to school from winter break yet. What a bonus for them! I imagine it will be a bit of a rude awakening for them tomorrow. But I also think there might be a silver lining with this rise in cases for the ‘Rona.

Everybody stay safe out there! Please do your best to stay healthy!

The Review

Here’s what happened on the blog last week:

This week was #turnttmsintobandnames week. It was definitely fun from my perspective. I hope you all enjoyed it. I don’t think I had to stretch anything too far. Jim Kern was just hard to pull off when the band name to match it up to was just one word. I also got the December review and my start of the yearly reviews out with the My Best Nine post.

Some I noticed while writing this section… The Floyd Rayford card was green, the background of the December Report post was green (a very similar green), and then I posted Tommy Greene. What a coinky dink!

The Preview

Here’s what I have coming up for this week:

  • Monday: Schmitty…
  • Tuesday: Duane Wayne…
  • Tuesday: Can do much with this name without really making fun…
  • Wednesday: Que Harrah Harrah…
  • Thursday: Check the Mike…
  • Friday: Rockin’ Robinson…
  • Saturday: Morgan-a…
  • Sunday: “Rainbow”…

No theme for the week this week and no theme for the #twofortuesday this week. I’m trying to get through some of the backlog the best I can at this point while I think of some more ideas.

Other Notes

This week was nuts. I got no mail for the first two days because of the snow we had in the area. That was a little frustrating mostly because of the way the holiday fell. It just fell like my year wasn’t starting off well. Then with the days that I did get mail, it was explosions of mail. I got 35 returns this week – a record I think. That Wednesday (the first day of mail) I think I got 15 returns. And that just the successes. I got failures from Mike Fiore, Rick Waits, and Bill Melton. I think Bill has a new address though and I am trying him again right away.

There were definitely some good ones. Kelenna Azubuike signed via the Warriors and Glen Wesley signed from the Blues for two good “team” returns. I also got a few paid returns back with Jerry Koosman (one of my faves because he’s a Met), Jimmy Key and Fergie Jenkins. But best of all, I tried my first Past Pros experience and it was great – I got Keith Hernandez in just about two weeks – Awesome!

The new Recent TTM Success is updated.

Have a great week!
