The Story of the Autograph

Craig Wilson is a former infielder and utility player in the major leagues. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals from 1989 to 1993.

Wilson was born and raised in Maryland. He went to Anne Arundel Community College where he was drafted by the Cardinals in the 20th round of the 1984 MLB Draft. Five years later he made his major league debut on September 6, 1989.

After only playing in six games during the 1989 season, he got a bit more opportunity in the following years. He played between 55 and 61 games for the Cardinals from 1990 to 1992. He didn’t hit particularly well in St. Louis and never hit a homer while he was a Cardinal. In 1993, prior to the season, he was traded with Felix Jose in the deal that brought Gregg Jeffries to the Cardinals from the Royals.

He was a free agent after his time with the Royals played two more seasons in the minors before retiring. He tried to make a comeback by playing in the Mexican League but retired again after fourteen games.

The Score on Craig Wilson – 7.0

Craig has a somewhat standard signature but does a pretty good job filling up the cards. These game out pretty well and how could you go wrong with a card where he’s juggling. I’m not sure if he only signs two, or if something got messed up, or if I just caught him on a bad day but he only signed two cards of what I sent him.

Thanks Mr. Wilson! I’m giving this return a 7.
