The Story of the Autograph

Randy Moller is a former defenseman in the NHL. His thirteen year career lasted from 1982 to 1995 and during that time he played for the Quebec Nordiques, New York Rangers, Buffalo Sabres, and Florida Panthers.

Moller was born and raised in Alberta, Canada. The Nordiques took him in the first round of the 1981 NHL Draft with the eleventh overall pick. He started his career before that though with the Red Deer Rustlers of the AJHL and then the Billings Bighorns and Lethbridge Broncos of the WHL. He made his debut for the Nordiques during the 1982-83 season.

He played in 815 games with 45 goals, 180 assists, 225 points, and 1,692 penalty minutes. But he’s probably know more for two things not related to his playing. He was on the cover of the NHLPA Hockey ’93 video game as a Ranger along with Mike Richter. But even bigger than that he’s one of the best play-by-play announcers in the league for the Panthers. He makes interesting calls that include references provided to him by fans from radio shows.

This was my second successful hockey return and as I get more and more I am learning which cards are better for signatures. I’m really liking the 1990 Score cards and this is one of the better ones. With all that white of the boards and ice there’s such a great place to sign. I like how the signature comes out on the 1991 Bowman cards even if the image is bigger.

Thanks Mr. Moller! I’m giving this return a 6.5.
