The Story of the Autograph

Michel Petit is a former defenseman in the NHL. His sixteen year career spanned from 1982 to 1998 and during that time he played for the Vancouver Canucks, New York Rangers, Quebec Nordiques, Toronto Maple Leafs, Calgary Flames, Los Angeles Kings, Tampa Bay Lightning, Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers, and Phoenix Coyotes. At the time he finished playing he tied the record for the most teams played for with ten (although he was the first to ten).

Petit was born and raised in Quebec, Canada. He was chosen by the Canucks with the eleventh overall pick in the first round of the 1982 NHL Draft. He only made it into two games that first season but his playing time increased during the next few years. He spend the most time with Vancouver in his career than anywhere else.

In his best years offensively he score twelve or thirteen goals (1986-’87, 1989-’91) and had more than 20 assists eight times. His highest point total was 39 in 1990-’91 while with the Nordiques and Maple Leafs.

This is just another example of why those 1990 Score and 1990 Upper Deck cards are usually the best cards to sign. There just usually more good area on those and I think Michel took advantage of that. I think this is another example I’m feeling for these hockey cards because my doubles are focused into just a few years mainly so I don’t get a good sampling of the teams they played on.

Thanks Mr. Petit! I’m giving this return a 7.
