The Story of the Autograph

Walt Suggs is a former professional football player who played defensive end and offensive tackle. He played from 1962 to 1971 and spent his entire career with the Houston Oilers.

Suggs was born and raised in Mississippi and went to Mississippi State University. He was an All-State tacked while he was in high school and played in the 1957 Mississippi High School All-Star game. While in College he played in the Blue Gray Game as a Junior and then the Senior Bowl the year after that.

He was drafted by the Oilers in the third round of the 1961 AFL Draft with the 24 overall pick. He was a two time AFL All-Star in 1967 and 1968 and made the move with the Oilers to the NFL.

Walt has a fine signature but the marker let him down on this one. His first name came out alright but his last name was definitely not great. But there’s ink on the card right and sometimes that’s what counts.
