The Story of the Autograph

Tom Brennan is a former right-handed pitcher in the major leagues. He played from 1981 to 1985 with the Cleveland Indians, Chicago White Sox, and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Brennan was born and raised in the Chicago area. He went to Lewis University and was drafted fourth overall in the first round of the 1974 MLB Draft. He spent several years in the minors and then debuted on September 5, 1981.

He worked mostly as a relief pitcher but a third of the appearances for his career were starts. His best shot was in his second year of 1982 with the Indians. That season he went 4-2 with a 4.27 ERA in 30 games and 92.2 innings with four starts.

He had an odd pitching motion and was nickname “The Flamingo” because of what he resembled on the mound.

Tom has a fine signature. It’s almost stacked so maybe we could call it kind of half-stacked. The 1984 card came out great and you can really get a good look at his signature. Unfortunately though the 1983 card has a lot of bubbling and the card didn’t take the ink too well.

Thanks Mr. Brennan! I’m giving this return a 6.
