The Story of the Autograph

Scot Pollard is a former forward/center in the National Basketball Association. He played from 1997 to 2008 with the Detroit Pistons, Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacers, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Boston Celtics.

Pollard was born in Utah as one of six children. But he went to high school in San Diego before moving to Washington where he played for most of his senior year. He was a high school All-American in 1993 and went on to attend the University of Kansas. He had a pretty good college career for the Jayhawks, finishing sixth in Kansas history for free throws, fourth in rebounds and second in blocked shots. The Pistons selected him with the 19th overall pick in the 1997 NBA Draft.

He only played one year in Detroit before being traded to the Hawks for Christian Laettner. But he never played for the Hawks. They traded him to the Kings where he had the longest stint of his career. He became a reliable back up to Vlade Divac as the Kings built some playoff worthy teams. He was then traded to the Pacers in 2003 where he continued to be a solid backup. He would move on to the Cavaliers and Celtics. In 2008 he was part of the Celtics NBA Championship winning team.

Pollard was known for some crazy hair styles and earned the nickname “Samarai Scot” in Sacramento. He’s done some sports TV and was an actor in a couple films. In 2016 he was a contestant on Survivor.

I didn’t know if I was really going to get these back from Scot. They game out pretty good for the most part with some rubbing on a couple of them. I love how he used a blue marker on the card with him in a Jayhawks uniform. Most of the others are pretty dark to show off the autograph.

Thanks Mr. Pollard! I’m giving this return a 6 overall.
