The Story of the Autograph

Roger Craig is a former player and manager in the major leagues. He played as a pitcher from 1955 to 1966 with the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds, and Philadelphia Phillies. He was a manger for the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants.

As a player he spent seven years with the Dodgers and picked up two World Series wins in those years. He moved on to the Mets for the first two seasons of the franchise and like the rest of the team, didn’t do well. He put up league leading losses two years in a row with 24 and 22 in 1962-63. But before his playing career ended he picked up another ring with the Cardinals in 1964.

As a manager he had his best years in San Francisco. He put up winning seasons in each of the first five full seasons before having two losing seasons to end his time there. But the highlight was in 1989 when the Giants won the NL Pennant and then faced the A’s in the World Series and lost.

The Score on Roger Craig – 6.5

Roger has a nice signature and it came out really well on these cards. This was really one of the big eras for manager cards and you could find them in almost all the sets of the 80’s. But I like that because it gives you another chance to get some more cards of a guy like Roger. I don’t know how accurate this is, but I don’t think Roger is signing anymore. I thought I saw someone post that he responded that he is not signing.

Thanks Mr. Craig! I’m giving this return a 6.5.
