Review / Preview – Week of 9/6

TTM Review Preview

What’s on the docket for you long holiday weekend? I can’t believe it but my kids are in their second week of school and they already have an extra day to make a four-day weekend. I’m not actually sure why?

So far I have a lot of nothing planned, which might be my favorite type of weekend. Just sittin’ around bloggin’ it up and seeing if I can get ahead on posts for the next couple weeks. We were thinking about having a party but that sort fell through (because of my laziness).

Whatever your doing: barbeque, neighborhood get together, one last little trip with the kids… I hope you have a nice long weekend!

The Review

Here’s what happened on the blog last week:

This week we had a Texas-themed #twofortuesday. But now that I’m looking at it I could have had a quirkier one “brought to you by the letter ‘B'” with Brian Baschnagel and Bruce Benedict back-to-back. I also got the August report out. That was a nice one to put together, but there was a lot to put together… that’s a good thing!

The Preview

Here’s what I have coming up for this week:

  • Monday: Dyal “M” for Mike…
  • Tuesday: Wayne’s World…
  • Tuesday: Born Freeman…
  • Wednesday: When I get the leaves from the yard I use my Uhlenhake…
  • Thursday: Steven is my name (I love that quote from Braveheart)…
  • Friday: One of the most confusing last names…
  • Saturday: Can I please have some Mora…
  • Sunday: That’s Gould Jerry…

I haven’t done this in a while, but I’m getting back to a theme for the whole week. With the NFL season starting next week I’m doing all football, all week. Within that I’m planning for a Jets-themed #twofortuesday.

Other Notes

It was another huge week to close out August on a high note and start September off with a bang. I got back 24 returns! It was actually not as many cards in each as I usually do, but it was a really great week for those return numbers. I know next week has a holiday so it’s one less day of mail. I’m also short on stamps and waiting for more so it will be a lesser week going out, but that just means less coming back later. Maybe I will make up for it in another week.

I don’t think I had any craziness like the previous week with so many White Sox coming back to me. Although I did get at least two returns with White Sox cards in there. I continue to see some coaching attempts come back with Danny Farqhar and Ron Villone coming in this week. Other than that there were a lot of really reliable signers like Gary Lavelle, Billy Ashley, Darold Knowles, Don Money, Junior Kennedy, Bill Lee, and Ted Power in the returns.

I think my favorite though was Jimmy Kremers. It looks like when he got my cards they must have been soaked. He put two card in the return back to me and wrote me a little not to tell me what happened. Good dude!

Have a great week!
