My first planned themed week is up for next week. Sure, I’ve had some themes I’ve gone with in the past, like the #beastieboyschallenge, but this week I had four options and finally got my crap together to get a poll out there.
The choices and results were:
- New York State of Mind: 38%
- California Dreamin’: 25%
- Cleveland Rocks: 31%
- Deep in the Heart of Texas: 6%
“New York State of Mind” was the clear winner right from the gate but “Cleveland Rocks” kind of came out of nowhere to finish second. I’m not sure if I’ll be doing all of these in this order or if I’ll be saving the themes for another vote next week. I think some of that depends on what I have within the backlog that I can get to. The key is preparing for it. I don’t want work to get in the way and then I can’t complete the theme.
So “New York State of Mind” it is. All posts will have the hashtag #newyorkstateofmind in my posts on IG and Twitter. It won’t be that every card signed will be from a New York team, but the feature card will be. Then I’ll switch it up next week again.
Thanks to those who voted.
The Review
Here’s what happened on the blog last week:
- Sunday: Dyar Miller
- Monday: Andy Heck
- Tuesday: Robert Parish
- Wednesday: Scott Leius
- Thursday: Mark Teahen
- Friday: Andy Stankiewicz
- Saturday: Pete Redfern
That Robert Parish was the first basketball post in a while I feel like. It came out of nowhere and I think the next one will at least seem that way too. I know I have one in the pipeline but it’s gonna be a while before we get to it. Otherwise it was almost all baseball, aside from Andy “What the” Heck.
The Preview
Here’s what I have coming up for this week:
- Monday: Feels like a mouthful to say…
- Tuesday: Winningest for the Mets…
- Wednesday: KC who played for NY…
- Thursday: No one gets CDs anymore…
- Friday: This one is Pasqua the expiration date…
- Saturday: Are you Tuff enough?
- Sunday: Fowl Raul…
Remember the theme will be New York State of Mind for next week. All posts will have the feature image that will have a New York team on it.
Other Notes
Last week was an insane week with 19 successes. I think I got at least one card a day and then a couple days of three or four. There were actually a few that I had failures on and turned around pretty quickly that came back too.
Right now I have my backlog at 158. That’s a huge jump from where I was last week and one of the big reasons that I can get to some themed weeks.
