Review / Preview – Week of 5/11

TTM Review Preview

This week was the end of organizing for the next round and I finally got to writing. I like to look for cards in different categories. So for this time around I was looking at the following:

  • Recent successes from others (from IG and Twitter)
  • Somewhat recent successes for me, but not too recent
  • Guys who have historically returned quickly (like less than ten days)
  • New guys to try
  • And a combo of those for basketball and football

For the new guys to try, I break them up into “old cards” (’80 or prior), “80’s cards” (obvious), and then “newer cards” (most;ly after 1990). With all the boxes I’ve been opening I felt like I had a lot more of that last batch than I usually do. That was actually kind of fun for me because it’s more players I haven’t tried before.

The next step I do after that is sort them sort of by amount of cards. That would be if I am sending five or four or whatever. Then I try to mix them a bit. I used to sent all the cards for guys where I was sending five first and it got kind of depressing at the end when it was a lot of one card guys. So now I mix them in.

I’m really excited to see how it goes.

The Review

Here’s what happened on the blog last week:

The review of last month’s TTMs went out last week. I was actually thinking I was going to cut it close with getting it out. Last month was really about keeping up the pace and I was somehow able to do that last month even while taking a little bit of a break.

The Preview

Here’s what I have coming up for this week:

  • Monday: What the Heck?
  • Tuesday: Is there a better No. 0?
  • Wednesday: Beam me up, Scotty…
  • Thursday: I’m a little Teahen pot…
  • Friday: Stanky!
  • Saturday: Where the Redfern Grows…
  • Sunday: Get off yer Aase…

Any guesses? Some of these are REALLY easy this week.

Other Notes

The backlog is now at 146. I started to plan some themed weeks to start in the next few weeks. That seems like it’s going to be pretty fun. Having the big backlog is handy for doing stuff like that because in some cases there’s a lot to choose from. Not as much in some other areas, but the more I get back the more choices that are out there.

Stay Safe! Stay Healthy!
