Review / Preview – Week of 3/20

TTM Review Preview

Sometimes hobbies are a lot of work, am I right?

I’ve been doing a bit of a refresh on my boxes of cards to pick out for TTMs lately. It involves going through cards I set aside and going back through boxes of dupes. Then sorting them out, first by letter, then by player. I merge them into what I already had set aside in boxes and then it’s a matter of picking things out.

But I’ve added a little bit to my process. As part of my goals for the year I wanted to do a better job of not just sending whatever cards I had on hand when I knew a guy was signing. So I’m sorting each player’s cards based on if I have it signed already so I can try not to send so many cards I already have signed.

I really actually like sorting, there’s just a lot of it. But I’ve found that it’s a great thing to do during the NCAA Tournament. There’s plenty of sports on in the background for hours on end… and nobody bothers me while I’m “watching” that for the most part.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

The Review

Here’s what happened on the blog last week:

There were some extra posts this week. One was for a good reason and the other not so good. First the not so good, Felton Spencer passed away on March 12th. Second, and the good one, is that I finally got my February stats out. I’m also noticing that I missed an opportunity to have a “Bill” #twofortuesday. Not sure how that got by me.

The Preview

Here’s what I have coming up for this week:

  • Monday: Medvin-eval Times…
  • Tuesday: Strike a Pose…
  • Tuesday: Look at the big brain on Brad…
  • Wednesday: It’s Always Sundvoldy…
  • Thursday: Roy boy…
  • Friday: Madlock about you…
  • Saturday: The Gravedigger…
  • Sunday: Lay off the Boozer…

Still just working through the backlog and no themes this week. These are the oldest things in the backlog.

Other Notes

It was a slightly slower return week this time around. I got fourteen successful returns back and no failures. That included three paid returns from Dave Parker, Steve Garvey and Howard Johnson. Unfortunately it looks like HoJo has upped his charge to $10 per. There were three good stragglers this week too: Manny Trillo (1126), Bill Plummer (635), and George Canale (512). I love thinking about stragglers, but what’s really crazy about Manny’s is that I got two other successful returns back since I sent that one.

The Recent TTM Success page is updated.

Have a great week!
