The best laid plans, am i right?
I partly do these to make sure I have my plan for the upcoming week. It helps me organize my thoughts as my weeks have gotten a bit busier at my real job. But last week was blown apart when I received a challenge from @MyPenIsHuge on Twitter (if you are a TTMer and you don’t follow him you should).
I posted Julio Borbon on Tuesday with the caption “One Borbon, One Scotch, and One Beer” and that led to the Thorogood Challenge (#thorogoodchallenge) as he told me to post with Thorogood references all week. I had to do it.
The Review
Here’s what happened on the blog last week:
- Sunday: Vic Correll
- Monday: Ron Cey
- Tuesday: Julio Borbon, Breaking Blasters: 2020 Topps Series 1
- Wednesday: Larry Bowa
- Thursday: Jack McKeon
- Friday: Bobby Valentine
- Saturday: Don Carman, Card Thoughts – 1990 Pro Set – A Professional Set
Obviously George Thorogood was the the theme this week. Other than the one I already mentioned, the captions were “Bad to the Bowa,” “One drink ain’t enough Jack, you better make it three” which are lyrics from One Bourbon, One Scotch and One Beer, “Who Do You Love?,” “Oklahoma Sweetheart,” and I even continued it into this morning with “Kids From Philly.”
It was definitely a good time. My backlog made it easy, but it was all able to be done with pending TTMs that I hadn’t posted yet.
The Preview
Here’s what I have coming up for this week:
- Monday: Ker… plunk…
- Tuesday: Blood sucker…
- Wednesday: Hangin’ with Mr….
- Thursday: iCarly?
- Friday: Not multiple Walts, just one Walt…
- Saturday: A mad eastern European…
- Sunday: And possibly a Mad Max…
Guesses? Go for it!
Other Notes
Backlog is at 95! This is going to take me through May!
I’m hoping to start getting some Spring Training posts and doubling up on some during the week. I think any time I start getting a current player with this backlog I will do two posts in a day. People seem to like seeing some more current players based on what I see feedback for on social media.
The Thorogood Challenge was fun, but it will be nice to get back to my plan. That said, I’m not letting it lock me in and I’ll be ready for anything.
Hope you have a great week!
