The Story of the Autograph

Randy Breuer is a former center in the NBA. He played from 1983 to 1994 with the Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Atlanta Hawks and Sacramento Kings.

Breuer is a Minnesota native. In high school she was named Mr. Basketball for the state in 1979. He then attended the University of Minnesota where the Bucks drafted him from in the first round of the 1983 with the 18th overall pick.

In his first two seasons he played most games, but didn’t start very much and played less than 14 minutes a game. His third season, 1985-86 he got a better shot and played almost 22 minutes per game and started 63 of the 82 games he played in. He put up 8.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game. Even better was 1987-88 when he stared 73 of 81 games with career highs in points per game (12) and rebounds per game (6.8).

He was traded to his hometown team, the expansion Timberwolves, in 1990. The deal sent Breuer and a second round pick to Milwaukee for Brad Lohaus and another second round pick. He started about half the games he played in with the Timberwolves for two of the full seasons he was there and averaged 10.2 points per game in 1989-90.

He moved around a bit during the last two years he played, to Atlanta and Sacramento, before calling it a career.

The Score on Randy Breuer – 6.0

Randy doesn’t appear to have a lot of definition to his signature. He also does a few interesting things. If you read this regularly you know that I find it odd when players don’t sign in a consistent way. Randy didn’t put his number on every card. The other interesting thing… he put his height on some of them, “7’3″”. I think the best of these is the 1991 Upper Deck card that includes both of those things.

Thanks Mr. Breuer! I’m giving this return a 6.
