The Story of the Autograph

Pete Carroll is the head coach and executive vice president of the Seattle Seahawks. He’s been in the NFL as a coach a long time and also spent time in coaching in college. He’s won championships in both.

Pete’s been a coach for longer than I’ve been alive. He started out in the mid-70s as a graduate assistant for Pacific and Arkansas. After than he move through several different schools, mostly a year at a time and coach the secondary or was a defensive coordinator. In the mid-80’s be broke into the NFL as a defensive backs coach for the Bills and Vikings. Then in the early-90’s he got on the map as the defensive coordinator of the New York Jets and would be head coach for one year in 1994.

Pete was part of the whole Belichick and Parcells saga as they were going back and forth from the Jets to the Pats. After coaching the Jets, he went back to a defensive coordinator position with the 49ers and since then has been a head coach. From 1997 through 1999 he was head coach of the Patriots. It didn’t work out too well and Belichick became the coach in 2000. Then in 2001 Carroll moved back to college and coach the USC Trojans from 2001-2009.

Carroll created a dynasty there. His teams were AP National Champs in 2003 and 2004, Rose Bowl champs four times and twice Orange Bowl champs. He was Coach of the Year in 2003. Pete coached guys like Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, and so many others. However, he did break NCAA rules and had several games vacated.

He moved on to the Seahawks in 2010 and won Super Bowl XLVIII against Peyton Manning and the Broncos. They would appear in another and lose to the Patriots. I think he comes off as a player’s coach and someone who is generally positive and enthusiastic on the field.

The Score on Pete Carroll – 9.0

This might be my best of the year. First off, Pete signed nice and big and on a magazine, that’s big. Second, he signed in a pretty good spot where you could see it really well. But the best part about this one was that he signed in green. Not only is it green, but it’s close to the Seahawks kind of sea green color. He’s got a solid signature to where you can read is name really clearly and pick it out as his.

Thanks Mr. Carroll. I’m giving this one a 9.
