The Story of the Autograph
Nate Jones is a right-handed relief pitcher with the Chicago White Sox. He was drafted in the fifth round of the 2007 MLB Draft and worked his way through the White Sox organization to make his debut at the major league level in 2012. That first year he was able to compile an 8-0 record in 65 appearances with a 2.39 ERA in 71.2 innings pitched.
2013 wasn’t as successful a year. He went 4-5 with a 4.15 ERA in only slightly more appearances and innings. And that luck kept on into the next year where injury took its toll. He had back surgery in May of 2014 and then Tommy John Surgery in July of the same year. He would stay on the disabled list through August of 2015 and appeared in 19 games to close out the season. He struck out 27 batter over the final 19 innings that year with a 2-2 record and a 3.32 ERA.
He seems to be back in form the last few years with an ERA in the twos and a winning record. Although he had limited innings last year after winning the gold medal in the World Baseball Classic with the US team.
The Score on Nate Jones – 7.5
I really like Nate’s signature. I know he kind of writes part of it tiny, but in reality the whole signature is pretty big. I actually am wondering how he writes his number “65” so small given the size of the marker he is using. It looks like he really takes care when he signs cards and I love it when it looks like guys do that. To me it’s obvious that he takes his time with your cards.
Thanks Mr. Jones! These get a 7.5.
