The Story of the Autograph

Mike Kenn is a former offensive tackle in the NFL. He played from 1978 to 1994 and spent his entire career in Atlanta with the Falcons.

Kenn is a native of Evanston, Illinois. In addition to football, he played lacrosse and ice hockey in high school. He then went to Michigan and played on some pretty good Michigan teams from 1975 to 1977. The Falcons drafted him in the first round of the 1978 NFL Draft with the 13th overall pick.

His first year was really a sign of what Mike would be for his 17-year career, an excellent player who could be counted on to be in the line up every week. He started every game that rookie season and was named to the NFL All-Rookie team.

In 1980 he made the first of his five consecutive Pro Bowl appearances. He would end up being a three-time First-team All-Pro and a two-time Second-team All-Pro. But as we saw with the start to his career, the most impressive thing is that he started all 251 games he played in. As an offensive lineman that seems like an amazing accomplishment.

The Score on Mike Kenn – 6.5

These game out really good. While I think I would prefer Mike to sign in black, I think the blue sticks out well on these. I love the Falcons white uniforms though as they make the cards a lot cheerier than the black uniforms. I think the best one of these for me is the 1990 Pro Set.

Thanks Mr. Kenn! I’m giving this return a 6.5.
