The Story of the Autograph

Mike Bell is a former defensive end in the NFL. He played for twelve seasons in the league from 1979 to 1991. He spent his entire career with the Chiefs in Kansas City.

Bell is a native of Kansas. He went to college at Colorado State. He was a first-team All-American for the Rams as a senior in 1978. He also played there with his brother Mark. The Chiefs then made him the second overall pick in the first round of the the 1979 NFL Draft. That allowed him to come back and play in his home state.

He played in eleven games in his first season with three of those being starts. He played sparingly in 1980 and was a full time starter in 1981. His best seasons were 1983 and 1984 when he had double digit sacks for two years in a row. The first of those seasons he had 10 and then set a career high with 13.5 in 1984.

Bell finished his career in 1991 having played in 135 games with 99 starts and 52 career sacks.

This is a really good return from Mike. There isn’t much to his signature style-wise, but he’s only got eight letters to work with I guess. The black marker he used was great and it really pops on the card on top of that red Chiefs jersey.

Thanks Mr. Bell! I’m giving this return a 7.5.
