The Story of the Autograph
Max Montoya played as a guard in the NFL from 1979 through 1994. He played for the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Raiders.
Montoya grew up in California and went to college at UCLA after attending a community college to start. The Bruins got better each year he was there and he ended his college career with a 10-10 tie against Arkansas in the 1978 Fiesta Bowl. Cincinnati then made him their seventh round draft pick the next year. He was a starter for the Bengals by his second season and only missed a couple games until the 1986 season. He was selected to the Pro Bowl four times, three times with the Bengals and once with the Raiders (1986, 1988, 1989 and 1993).
After his playing days he owned some restaurants and coached some high school football. These days he raises horses in Kentucky.

I like Max’s autograph but I wish I had some Bengal cards of his because that’s how I think of him. Plus these Raiders cards are always so dark with all those black uniforms. I would call Max’s autograph a production. It’s got these great lines at the top and bottom and plus his number. I don’t get many guys who have “x” in their name so that looks pretty cool too.
