The Story of the Autograph
Marv Cook played tight end for the Patriots, Bears and Rams in the NFL from 1989 through 1993. He was drafted by the Patriots in the 3rd round of the 1989 NFL draft with the 63rd overall pick after attending college at Iowa.
He spent most of his career with the Patriots and found his greatest success there. In fie years in New England he made the Pro Bowl twice in back-to-back years (1991 and 1992) and was named an All-Pro once (1991). 1991 was by far his best year where he was fourth in the league in catches with 82. He had 808 yards and scored 3 touchdowns that year. That yardage total is almost double his yearly total from other years.
Since 2007 Cook has coach high school football in Iowa where his school, Regina HS, won seven straight state titles between 2010 and 2016. They even had a 56-game winning streak from 2010 to 2013. Regina HS is actually the rival of Cook’s high school, West Branch.
The Score on Marv Cook – 4.0
Marv has an OK signature. It’s definitely not consistent as these two cards looks similar, but not necessarily the same. It’s pretty much an “M” and then a lot of loops. The thing that knocks this score down is the condition of the ink. These look like they probably rubbed on each other when not completely dry in the envelope. If I send to Marv again I’ll have to remember to send only two cards.
Thanks Mr. Cook! These get a 4.
