The Story of the Autograph

Louis Oliver played Safety in the NFL for eight seasons with two different teams. He spent four years with the Dolphins, one year with the Bengals, and then went back to Miami for two final seasons. He was Florida born and bread and aside from that one year in Cincinnati, that’s where he played football.

Oliver grew up in Belle Glade, FL and attended Glades Central High school. He was a great player for the Raiders and after high school he headed to Florida to try to play for the Gators. He walked on and earned a scholarship, but that’s not all. He became the starting free safety, a team captain and would have eleven interceptions. He’s now in the UF Athletic Hall of Fame.

The Dolphins selected him in the first round of the 1989 NFL draft with the 25th overall pick. He played there with one of his Gator teammates Jarvis Williams. His best season could have to be 1992 when he had five interceptions including a 103 yard return of one of those interceptions against Jim Kelly and the Bills. That was actually his third straight year of five interceptions.

The Score on Louis Oliver – 4.5

Louis doesn’t have much to his signature, which is fine, but because of that I just wish it was a little bigger. I’m having trouble trying to tell if he just signs his first name or if its his first initial and then last name. I think no matter what he signed, the more I see some of these cards come back the more I think I need to do something to them before they go out. I’ve been getting a lot of rubbed off cards lately and I don’t ever remember getting this many back like this in the past. It definitely knocks down the score.

Thanks Mr. Oliver! These get a 4.5.
