The Story of the Autograph

Larry Casian is a former left-handed pitcher in the major leagues. He worked as a relief pitcher from 1990 to 1998 with the Minnesota Twins, Cleveland Indians, Chicago Cubs, Kansas City Royals, and Chicago White Sox.

Casian is a California native. He went to Cal State Fullerton and was drafted from there by the Twins in the sixth round of the 1987 MLB Draft. After a few years in the minors he made his major league debut on September 9, 1990.

It took him a few years to really break into the big leagues but he did pitch for the Twins for 15 games in their World Series winning 1991 campaign. It was in 1993 that he got into a career high 54 games and went 5-3 with a 3.02 ERA in 56.2 innings that he got his best chance in the league.

Unfortunately he followed it up with some disappointing years of 7+ ERAs. But in 1995 and 1996 with the Cubs he posted years of sub-2 ERAs, definitely the best of his career. He finished his career with a 11-13 record, 4.56 ERA, with 246 games and 240.2 innings pitched.

The Score on Larry Casian – 7.5

This came out really good from Larry. I don’t think of the 1994 Topps Stadium Club cards as always really giving the best shot at a good score because they can tend to be a bit dark and have busier images, but those came out well. The 1991 Leaf cards might be one of my least favorite designs, but they came out the best here.

Thanks Mr. Casian! I’m giving this return a 7.5.
