The Story of the Autograph
Jeff Jaeger is a former placekicker in the NFL. He played from 1987 through 1999 with the Browns, Raiders and Bears.
Jaeger was born and raised in Washington state and played college football for the University of Washington where he was a walk-on. He had a great college career, ultimately earning consensus All-American honors and selected as a 1st Team All-American by the AP and UPI. He is still the all-time Husky scoring leader and help the NCAA record for career field goals until it was broken in 2003.
Kickers aren’t always selected in the NFL Draft but Jaeger was. He was picked by the Browns in the third round of the 1987 draft. He spent one season in Cleveland but broke the rookie scoring record and only played in ten games. He had some great season with the Raiders during their time in Los Angeles and Oakland. He closed out his career with the Chicago Bears.
These days he lives back home in Washington and consults with the local football team for kicking.
The Score on Jeff Jaeger – 6.5
I’m glad Jeff went with a blue pen on these. I know I normally like when the color goes with the uniform, but black would have been really tough to pull off on these. The card that came out the best is the 1990 Score card, but my favorite card is the 1991 Topps card. I love the landscape card for a kicker and you can see the flight of the ball in that one too.
Thanks Mr. Jaeger! I’m giving this return a 6.5.
