The Story of the Autograph

Greg Anthony is a former point guard in the NBA. His eleven-year career lasted from 1991 through 2002 and he played with the Knicks, Grizzlies, SuperSonics, Trailblazers, Bulls, and Bucks.

Anthony was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. He started his college career at the University of Portland and was the WCC Freshman of the Year before transferring to UNLV. In 1990, his junior season, he helped the Runnin’ Rebels to the NCAA Championship over Duke.

The Knicks drafted Anthony with the 12th overall pick in the first round of the 1991 NBA Draft. He excelled defensively and fit in well with the Knicks tough style of play under Pat Riley in the early 90’s. He would move on to the Grizzlies in 1995 when he was taken as the first pick in the Expansion Draft and was the starter there for two seasons. From there he moved around as a journeyman player.

After his career he worked as a broadcaster with ESPN and CBS for both the NBA and the NCAA. He’s also been very interested in politics since he was in high school and graduated from UNLV with a political science degree.

The Score on Greg Anthony – 5.5

Greg was one of the players that I best remember from MY glory days as a Knicks fan (we haven’t had those in a while). It was great to get this back and my favorite is the Upper Deck card. That one shows it off the best. He’s got a really big signature and it looks great against those white warm-ups.

Thanks Mr. Anthony! I’m giving this return a 5.5.
