The Story of the Autograph

Brian Meyer is a former right-handed relief pitcher in the major leagues. He played from 1988 to 1990 and spent his entire career with the Houston Astros.

Meyer was born in Camden, New Jersey. He went on to attend Rollins College in Florida and was drafted from there in the sixteenth round of the 1986 MLB Draft by the Astros. Two years later he made his debut on September 3, 1988. He was pretty much an up-and-down player and didn’t get into two many games in the three years he played in the majors.

In 1989 and 1990 he made it into twelve and fourteen games respectively. He never won a game going 0-5 for his career and ended up with a 2.84 ERA in 50.2 innings pitched over 34 total games.

For not having made too many appearances, Brian has a pretty interesting autograph. I find the “appearances to autograph style” ratio interesting sometimes and this is one of those times. I think a great example of his signature might be the 1990 Donruss card but that one is the one that hides his signature the most. I just really like what he is doing around where his “M” is. Although I don’t know if that is really an “M”.

Thanks Mr. Meyer! I’m giving this return a 6.5. overall.
