The Story of the Autograph

Albert Bentley is a former running back in the NFL. He played from 1984 to 1985 in the USFL and then from 1985 to 1992 in the NFL.

Bentley was born-and-raised in Florida. He went to Miami University where he score the winning touchdown in the 1984 Orange Bowl for the Hurricanes. Later that year he was drafted in both the USFL and the NFL. In the USFL he was drafted by the Michigan Panthers and in the NFL he was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts.

He started his career in the USFL with the Panthers. He only played eight games with one start. The next year the Panthers merged with the Oakland Invaders. Bentley played in 19 games and had over 1,000 yards rushing on under 200 rushing attempts for a 5.3 YPR average. When the USFL folded he went on to the Colts who had his rights from the 1984 NFL Draft.

Unfortunately he couldn’t replicate the success he had that year with the Invaders in the USFL. He only was a starter towards the end of his time in Indianapolis. His best year in the NFL was probably 1990 when he started 15 games and ran for 556 yards and four touchdowns. He also added 664 yards on 71 receptions and two touchdowns through the air. He moved on to Pittsburgh in 1992 before retiring.

The Score on Albert Bentley – 6.0

Albert has a small signature and if you didn’t include his number as a part of it, then it’s even smaller. It looks like he only really writes his first initial. From there I can’t really tell that it’s “Bentley” at all as his last name. The Score card came out the best of this return as that shows off the signature nicely.

Thanks Mr. Bentley! I’m giving this return a 6.
