The Story of the Autograph

Chris Bahr is a former placekicker in football as well as a former midfielder in the North American Soccer League. He played in the NFL from 1076 though 1989 with the Bengals, Raiders, and Chargers. He played for the Philadelphia Atoms in the NASL.

Bahr was born and raised in Pennsylvania. He went to Penn State and was named an All-American three times with the Nittany Lions in soccer and once in football. He was originally drafted int he first round of the 1975 NASL Draft and played soccer for the Atoms first. As a rookie he tied an NASL scoring record with 11 goals as a native-born American. He was the league’s Rookie of the Year in 1975 but departed for the NFL the next season.

After four season with the Bengals, it was the Raiders who Bahr became a key player for. He is second on the franchises all-time scoring list and had the career field goal record until it was surpassed by Sebastian Janikowski in 2007. He also was a part of the Raiders two Super Bowl victories in 1981 and 1984.

Bahr is from a pretty athletic family. His father is a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame, his mother was a champion swimmer at Temple and PE teacher at Penn State, his brother played soccer at Navy, his sister was an All-American gymnast and his younger brother Matt was also a placekicker in the NFL.

I really don’t have two many cards of Chris so I was lucky to find these doubles I had. He has a pretty standard signature but the think marker really works well with his short name and the way he signs.
