The Story of the Autograph

Steve Jordan played at the tight end position from 1982 through 1984. He spent is entire career with the Minnesota Vikings.

Steve went to college at Brown. I don’t think it’s that often that an Ivy Leaguer makes it in The League but Steve did. The Viking picked him up in the seventh round of the 1982 NFL Draft with the 179th overall pick. He had a great career in Minnesota and made six consecutive Pro Bowls from 1986 through 1991. In 1989 he was also Second-team All-Pro. He was also picked as one of the 50 greatest Vikings.

Steve put up some great numbers at the tight end position. In 1985 he ad a career high 68 receptions and nearly made it to 800 yards with 795 yards. He would follow that up with his first Pro Bowl campaign in ’86. He topped is yardage total wit a career high 859 yards in just 58 receptions. On top of that he threw in a career high six touchdowns. That would be his best year in is career as he would break 700 yards once more and have 5 touchdowns in 1988, with other solid years around those.

Steve’s son Cameron is defensive end and currently plays for the New Orleans Saints.

The Score on Steve Jordan – 5.0

I like Steve’s signature, but unfortunately there are all sorts of quality issues with these. First, you can see where the signatures kind of rubbed off on some of them. Then if you look at that ’93 Wild Card card, it has the best quality signature but also some damage. Two of the cards were stuck together somehow and the Wild Card card ripped (where is name is on the card).

Thanks Mr. Jordan! I’m giving these a 5 and I’ll have to try again sometime.
