The Story of the Autograph

Ryan Kerrigan plays for the Washington Redskins at outside linebacker. He’s been a pretty good pass rusher since he came into the league in 2011 and has so far been selected to three Pro Bowls including the last two years consecutively. He’s a guys that tends to make things happen in the right part of the field to change things for his team. I think that’s evidences by his three career interceptions, each taken into the end zone. But probably even more impressive about Ryan is his consistency. He hasn’t had less than 7.5 sacks since his rookie season and last year had 13.

Ryan was born and raised in Muncie, IN. In high school he played defensive end and tight end. As a senior he was all-state and it helped him earn a scholarship to Purdue. As a Boilermaker from 2007 to 2010 he got better every year. In 2010 this culminated with him being named All-Big Ten, All-American, Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, and winner of the Bump Willis Trophy for the top collegiate lineman. The Redskins selected him with the 16th overall pick in the 2011 draft.

Kerrigan is a tough player and it always looks like he is going 100% on every play. I’m a Giants fan and I always hate playing the Redskins because of him. He’s always the guys who is in the right place at the right time. But even as a Giants fan, I live in the DC area and Ryan is a great person and does a lot of charity work. He’s one of those players that I’m not going to root for because he is on a rival team, but I really wish I could.

The Score on Ryan Kerrigan – 5.5

From what I have seen, Ryan is a pretty good TTM signer. That’s of course why I sent these to him and I’m so glad I got them back. I don’t have a ton of recent football cards though so I didn’t have a lot to choose from. These are just a little dark for my taste. That Donruss card is pretty sweet looking though. It’s too bad it gets darker toward the bottom of the card.

Thanks Mr. Kerrigan! I’m giving this return a 5.5.
