So far my summer feels like its been going well. I hadn’t taken much time off to speak of yet (for years really) but that’s coming up. The family and I will be headed to Canada and hopefully we can avoid the smoke. It will be nice to get away though, and hopefully it will be a bit cooler up there.
I bought into the latest round of Ryan’s Vintage Cards this week too. It looks like he’s got even more stuff to chase in this round so that feels like it will be a fun one. I suggest getting in on it, even though that cuts down my chances of getting one of the big ones – LOL!
Hope you are enjoying your weekend!
The Review
Here’s what happened on the blog last week:
- Monday: Steve Trachsel
- Tuesday: Dennis Smith, Billy Ray Smith
- Wednesday: Carl Zander
- Thursday: Mike Garman
- Friday: Doug Lidster
- Saturday: Scott Servais
- Sunday: Roy Jefferson
I was going back through the oldest stuff in the backlog this week and found a theme for the #twofortuesday… #TheSmiths. Of course that led me to listening to The Smiths a lot this week and somehow I didn’t end up depressed (but I will say that How Soon Is Now? is a killer song). I’ve realized that when I’m going back through the oldest stuff, that’s when I get a bit more variety in my posts. This week had four football posts and one hockey post.
The Preview
Here’s what I have coming up for this week:
- Monday: I don’t like blood and Gohr…
- Tuesday: Holman, now hit it…
- Tuesday: Glass half Fulcher…
- Wednesday: K-E-L-L-Y, Why?
- Thursday: Whatchu talkin’ ’bout Willis…
- Friday: TIMMAY!
- Saturday: Leahy, lady, lay…
- Sunday: Friends with Benoit-fits…
This week I am going back through the backlog to pick out a few that I have multiple returns from in the backlog. There are two Bengals in there so there will be a #WhoDey theme to the #twofortuesday.
Other Notes
It was another good week for returns. I got back eighteen returns with one of those bring a failure. The failure was from Rex Hudler with the Royals and I think I am using a PO Box for theme that they might not be using anymore. I already got it back out for another try though so hopefully that one converts to a success.
There were two stragglers. One was Vance Johnson at 308 days. He even sent a note saying that he was sorry it took so long because someone finally sent him his mail. He didn’t need to do that of course but it shows that he’s a good dude and cares about the fans. The other was from Floyd Youmans at 266 days. I don’t know that I really expected to get that one back. It was kind of a flyer.

Have a great week!
