My kid was in a theater production this weekend at their high school. They killed it! They had a part that was totally built for them… scene stealer, comic relief, killer song. It was like a secondary part that I think they were a little bit disappointed with at first. But in the end I think this is the part that they designed to play. They are a junior so I think maybe next year they will have a more serious consideration for lead parts.
But what was also amazing was the size of the production. Overall it was over 90 kids that were part of this thing. From the actors, to the crew and designers, and then to the orchestra. They are a little army that just came together to get it done. There’s also a great attitude among them that they are all for each other. You can see them celebrating everyone’s successes, no matter what role they are playing in the production.
It really does amaze me how much they get done on their own. There’s very little adult/parent/teacher involvement. The teachers involved are the theater teacher as director, the orchestra teacher as conductor, and someone they bring in as a music director (a former chorus teacher). Other than that the kids choreographed the whole thing, designed and executed the makeup/costumes/sets/lighting/sound… all on their own. So impressive.
For this coming week, I’m hoping to get to the first baseball game in years.
Hope you are doing well!

I definitely felt more normal in getting things back out this week with my computer troubles behind me. No themes this week at all though.
The Preview
Here’s what I have coming up for this week:

- Wednesday: Gagne with a spoon…
- Thursday: My cousin Vinnie…
- Friday: Mike check…
- Saturday: Evans flow…
- Sunday: he’s a ski…
No themes again. I just haven’t had time to seriously look through the backlog and line things up since the last time I did it.
Other Notes
This was a bit of a slow week with only 15 successful returns that I got back. I also got three failures back which based on what I’ve seen recently is high for a month let alone for a week. But I’m thinking this week will cause some slowness in the future too. I had some bad timing on buying new stamps and I haven’t mailed anything since Wednesday. Since I get a little out every day, that’s like half the week I’m missing.
The biggest stragglers I had this week was Bob Patterson with 222 days out and then Luis Alicea with 192 days out. The next oldest one wasn’t even 60 days old. I think the best one I got back this week was for Chris Kunitz who I took a stab at via the Blackhawks.
The new Recent TTM Success is updated.
Have a great week!
